Summer!

Dino Day

Today because it was inter zones zones we had a Dino day. We were put in groups to make a movie about a dinosaur. In my group there was; Nevie west, Rebecca, Samanalie, Maddy and Me!!!!!!!!!!! We did the The Pterodactyl and  Plesiosaurus. In the first block we researcher, write the script and made the sets. We filmed in the second block and did the editing during lunch and the third block. Maddy did the actor. Most of the movie was shoots of her round the school, Telling as facts and being cheesy. She wore glasses to make her look geeky. There were also shoots of toy dinosaurs on set made of milk boxes. I did most of the editing. I think our movie was really good and i was proud of it.

Living like a character

This week for school we need to choose a book character and live like it in some way. I'm was going to be princesses Mia from the Princesses diaries by Meg cabot but a was playing with the year ones and it was really fun so I decided to be Lisa from the worry website by Jacqueline Wilson. At her old school she and her best friend played with the 4-year-olds at break. But my experience was quite different from hers, as instead of doing a comedy routine I was put in jail. At least today I was. The sit on my friends a I see we can't escape, And then tie you to a pole! But when you do escape they chase you and it's really fun. Yesterday we played a game called allington tag. I've played it once before, Earlier this year with some people in my class it's really fun.        

fireworks on ANZAC day

I think we should have fireworks an ANZAC day because all these soldiers died in war and fireworks are a great memorial for them. All so Fireworks are a funer way to celebrate than parade and boring services.

I want to be a Egyptologist

I ideal job is a Egyptologist. A Egyptologist is someone who studies ancient Egypt. This job appeals to me because I am fascinated in the ancient world, especially ancient Egypt. My dream is to find the tomb of Cleopatra and Marc Antony. If I want to become a Egyptologist I should take ancient history at Collage. It would probably be a good idea to take English. Outside school I should read as many books as possibly on Ancient Egyptians.

I'll also like to be a writer. The reason I want to be a fiction writer is that I really enjoying using my imagination and I am always making up stories in my head. It would be wonderful to get these stories published someday so anyone can read them. If I want to be a writer I should take English at college. Outside side school I should spend time reading and writing. It would be a good idea to join some book clubs.    
             

Hoildays in the south Island and hello term 4

In the holidays I had so much fun! In the first week I took the interislander to the south Island. After A long drive we arrived at Kaikorao. We stayed there for to nights and I loved it.It a anzing place that accats half a million vistior a year. It's got all this great wild life like Dolphins and albatros and New Zealand fur seals(soo cute!!!) Sperm whales also visit it every year along with something else. Guess what? We(my family) went for a walk and I enjoyed it so much I didn't want to go back; I wanted to do the whole thing! And I ran back!!
After Kaikorao we went to Hanmer springs for five nights. It has a pool that has like 16 thermal pools, To hydryslinds, a super bowl thing and a hundred other things. Once it had like 500 visitors in one day. We went there for two of the days though I got a tummy ache on the second day. we went for some walks and see our cousins who live in christchurch and played mini golf.

Something I had enjoyed at school has been our science topic. I have gotten really interested in the Galapagos Islands; They are soo amazing. My favourite animal would have to be the iguanas(sorry tortoise lovers) They are supercool and extraordinary. And the penguins. They are soo cute!! (Evan cuter then furs seals, But not cuter than my dog)      

Obsession+Elizabeth=N+M+B

(N+M+B=Netball+Minecraft+books)

Like my sum? I don't really have any obsessions to be honest. But I guess I need something so this is what I came up with: Obsession+Elizabeth=N+M+B=Netball+Minecraft+Books. It pretty much says my obsessions are netball, minecraft, and reading.

I love netball. I spend all my spare time practicing, mostly against a stone wall. It actually make good partner. its always there, dosen't annoy you, never drops the ball and normaly dose sensible throws. I've just finished the winter season. My team (me, Aisling, Maddy, Katie, Lily, Samanalie Aimee and Messalia last term) finished second in our grade, C2. My mum was our coach. I'm going to do summer netball. Are you obsessed with any sports?
  
I'm guessing you know what minecraft is. You do, don't you? If you don't know find out. It should be quite easy. (Clue: It's a really popular and fun computer game.see my last post for more info and pictures.)  I only started playing this year and I don't know much stuff yet. I prefer creative. I'm making this really cool house on creative. It's going to be a giant pyramid fountain. I also play survival. Yesterday I died in a pool of lava when I had about 100 redstone and coal. Have you made anything on minecraft that you are really proud of?

I really love books. They're so cool . So far this term I have read 47 books. My dream is to became a writer. The cool thing about books is that they take you far away without actually moving you.When you read them you kind of became another person and see stuff though their eyes. And when you write books  you create world and make your dreams come true for somebody else. You can tell stuff to the world or entertain your audience. What do you dream of becoming? 
       

Medival minecraft viillage

Over the least few weeks we have been working on a making a medieval village on minecraft. I made the granary and a few of the farms. Here are some screen shots. What building would you of done and how would you design it?

Medieval times

At school we have been learning about medieval times. Reading books has really helped me learn stuff and also enjoyed watching powerpoints and videos. Recreating medieval buildings and pretending to be be medieval people on minecraft are also really fun and effective ways of learning.

we learnt a lot about people villages and knights in this unit. I feel like we could of focused a bit more on towns and people like kings and knight. Also food and entertainment are two things we could of looked at a bit more

Electives

This year in electives I have done science and now I am doing technology challenge.

I found science a bit boring, though we did learn quite a bit and get to take home some cool things, such as ice-cream, bath bombs and sherbet We did lots of experiments and found out about our body, chemical reactions and heaps more.

In technology challenge we got a challenge to do every. Normally it is to make something out of a range of household materials, such as newspaper, cellotape and string, So far we had to make a caase to protect a egg, a searcher that carries 10 kg and a freestanding tower that is  as tall as possible.  

Tech

At tech so far I have done movie making, electronics and woodwork. At the monument I am making a spoon. I have learnt how to make a movie, and how to use tools such as saws and drills. Movie making has been my favourite class so far 

The Middle ages

Our top at school at the monument is medieval times. So far we have learnt about medieval castles, different ranks in medieval society and about merchants in the middle ages. It has been really interesting. I would like to look at medieval food and cookery, slavery in the middle ages and the basic life of most people in the middle ages. A fun learning idea would be cooking our own medieval meal.

Book group

At school we have book group, or book clubs. My group read running out of time. It was quite good for getting me to qask questions about what I was reading and helped me not to read opn and on and lose sense of time

Art

I think I have made quite a bit of progress in art. I have leart how to handle a paint brush and I am quite good a blending, but I still need to work on making shapes and drawing stright lines

The Treachery of Images

At school this week we painted The Treachery of Images I need to work on the shape of stuff I paint. Mine was far to fat! I also need to watch were my brush goes and what gets on it. But still, I think think the blending was good and the writing okay.

basic facts

At school we are having a basic facts focus. I am going to focus on 1-2 tables each week. This week I'm doing my 3s and 4s times tables. I'm going to revise them for 10 minutes each night, 5 minutes per table

St Bridget's; Part 2

Today we went to St Bridget's far catholic school's day. Once we arrived we went for a litergy at St Peter's and Paul church' hosted by St Bridget's school. Afterwards we went to the school and had a hour long mouring tea and FREE SAUGEGES!!  Afterwards we were divivied into groups twice and my my group made a fan and a car. everyone got together and sang a song to end it all it was quite fun

Trip to St Bridget's; Part 1

On Wednesday we are going on a school trip to St Bridgets. I want to make some new friends and learn what it really means to go to a catholic school

Financial literacy

On Tuesday a financial literacy person from ASB gat wise person came and talked to us. He talked to us about choosing a job that you're interested in. We learnt about about saving our money and setting CAR (clear, achievable, realistic) goal for stuff we went to buy. Some of the lessons we learnt were; do your homework, reward yourself along the way, put a picture of what you aim to buy in your wallet and save some on you but spend some to.

I reckon I'm okay at saving but when I do go out shopping I need to make a list of things i want to buy and have been saving up for and only buy them.      

Trip to the Museum

I did many things in the holidays. Many fun things. (Which means I don't have to write an amusing story

 about  how I didn't do anything in the holidays).  One of the most fun things I did was to go to the Wellington Museum of City and Sea . (I actually went to two museums in the holidays. The other one was Te apa. But I Liked the Museum of Wellington City and Sea more). It was very interesting and informative. And (okay) fun. 

I went there with my mum, two little sisters, and some family friends from my sister's coffee group and class. Dad dropped us off in front of the building and we caught the train home. We picked up a treasure hunt at the front desk. The lady at the desk asked us to find the two rats in the bond store that she heard were running around in there. We all rushed into the bond store to find them. On our way out we told her where they were and she gave us all a sticker for finding them.

I was really interested by the displays and wanted to have a good look at everything. Unfortunately my sisters and their friends rushed ahead so I didn't really get the chance. My favourite display-  Life a  Century Ago-  was on the top floor. It was all about everyday life for Victorians. My favourite part was the section that told you about different jobs people had. There were telephones which, when you put them to your ear, a person told you all about their job. It was much more interesting than reading lots of text.

After going to the museum we had lunch at Frank Kitts park. I played in a tree most of the time we were there. At 12 O'clock the Len Lye water swirler on the waterfront began. It was one of the weirdest things I saw that day. At one point it went really wild. My sisters and I went right up to it and got really went.

One the way to the train my mum, sisters and I looked at shops. Katie got a pillow pet for her birthday.  Marama wanted one too and she decided to buy one with her birthday money so we were on a mission to find some. We could not find the faintest trace. We decided to get one from the warehouse in Johnsonville, where we got off the train.

We caught a train at the central station on the Johnsonville line and got off at the end of the line. I sat with mum and my sisters ran around for most of the journey. They cannot sit still.

Once we got off we went to the warehouse where we found a whole tub off pillow pets. Marama chose a purple bunny. When they got home they we so excited about Marama's new toy that they didn't even care about the present that got left for Kate at the front door. WHAT!!! Do your siblings ever behave like that?         
    

   

Statistics

For a while we have been doing statistics. I have learnt many things during this unit such as how to draw pie graphs, histograms and angles. I also learnt about mean, mode, median, and range. I think I need to work angles a bit as well as means.

At school we are drawing super hero comics. I have leant
 about sketching durning our art lessons.
Some things I need to work on are:

• Making my drawings bigger
• Colouring in

          My name is Elizabeth. I live in Broadmewdows with my mum, dad, and 2 little sisters.

          Are pets are: two Guinea pigs, two fish and three frogs.In 26 days we're getting a puppy! It's going

         to be a red boy cavoodle. My favourite colour is Pink. My favourite food is nachos and I love 

          history. One of my favourite hobbies is reading. Other hobbies of mine are swimming, sewing'

         gymnastics and writing. I also do Girl Guides. Rebecca, my best friend dose it at the same

         time as me. I looove rm11! It is the most awesome class in the whole entire world
